In Cars 2, how does Mater realize it's Axelrod?

Mater also notices that the guard is wearing a similar mustache to the one that Axelrod is seen wearing in the picture. However, Mater is still unsure if this is the same person.
The second clue Mater receives comes when he is able to board a train headed for Italy. On the train, Mater overhears a conversation between two men discussing how their plan to sabotage the World Grand Prix is nearing completion. Mater quickly puts two and two together, realizing these men must be working for Axelrod. Furthermore, Mater soon discovers that the train is heading for Porto Corsa, Italy, where the World Grand Prix is being held.
Finally, Mater is able to confirm his suspicions when he arrives in Italy and is able to sneak into Axelrod’s office. Here, Mater finds documents and pictures that prove that Axelrod is behind the scheme. With this final piece of evidence, Mater is able to put all the pieces of the puzzle together and realizes that it is, in fact, Axelrod who is behind the sinister plot.
In the end, Mater is able to use his wit and intuition to uncover the mystery of Axelrod in Cars 2. With a bit of luck and some detective work, Mater is able to save the day and prove that no challenge is too big for him.
